Albany -- Charlie Goolsby is charged with shooting his wife Betsy twice after a night of drinking and arguing.
The Dougherty County Grand Jury indicted Charlie Goolsby for murder this morning. Prosecutors say Goolsby shot his 48-year-old wife, Betsy, during a fight.
Goolsby, nicknamed "Goose," is a retired hospital maintenance worker. Betsy Goolsby was the human resources director at HCA Palmyra Medical Centers.
Prosecutors say Goolsby shot his wife twice at their Star Court home in the Lake Park subdivision May 27th. Earlier that night they had been drinking at the Elk's Lodge, where they got into a prolonged argument.
"That went back to the home and escalated into a physical confrontation, where he shot her twice and killed her," said Dougherty D. A.Ken Hodges.
Goolsby remains in jail without bond. He'll likely be tried in November.
