Valdosta - Valdosta State University contributes more than 300 million dollars to the South Georgia economy. With more than 5,100 jobs, the University is the 3rd largest employer in the area next to South Georgia Medical Center and Moody Air Force Base.
A study now shows the school has a 332 million dollar annual economic impact..that's up 27 million dollars since 2004. "As our student body continues to expand, our faculty and staff continues to expand, and all the construction continues to expand you can expect the economic impact to expand quite significantly, especially over the next 5 years."
Since 2004, the University has also created an additional 277 jobs.
