Grady County-  The man believed to be responsible for a rash of convenience store robberies in Grady County is in jail.

Gainsville, Georgia Police stopped Lamar Edwards early this morning for expired tags and license. When Edwards gave police false information they ran his name through the state's criminal database. That's when they learned there was a robbery warrant for Edwards in Grady County.

"We look for stoppages in the robberies around this area now, as far as the convenience stores," said Sheriff Harry Young, Grady County.

Edwards faces charges for the armed robbery of the Citgo and Quick Buys Convenience Store on Highway 84. The Sheriff's department believes Edwards may be responsible for at least three other conveniences store burglaries.
