Athens - On Thursday, the four quarterbacks on Georgia's football team played a friendly round of golf.
The mood that day was relaxed.
But that was not the case Saturday afternoon when the Georgia football team held its first practice of the fall.
That means the battle to see who will be Georgia's starting quarterback has started in earnest.
Head coach Mark Richt says that all four quarterbacks, Joe Tereshinski, Blake Barnes, Joe Cox and true freshman Matthew Stafford have a chance to be Georgia's starter against Western Kentucky in four weeks.
The fact that Richt has to chose from four quarterbacks is perhaps why this decision will be so tough.
Richt said "Usually you roll into camp with a couple guys battling it out, maybe three. But not where we are right now. I will be glad quite frankly when we get this thing narrowed down a little bit."
Senior Joe Tereshinski said "You have to come out there every single day and meeting prepared. You can't take a day off. Since you are competing with four different guys, one guy might have a bad day but there is still two other guys there."
Georgia's fan day will be held on August 19th.
The Bulldogs season opener on September 2nd against Western Kentucky will be televised on WALB starting at 12:30 p.m..
