Hecht makes a stop in Albany

August 3, 2006

Albany - A candidate in next week's runoff for Lt. Governor made a stop in Albany today. Greg Hecht says there are a few things South Georgians need to know about him. Primarily that he has an agenda for when he takes office to seek independent living opportunities for senior citizens, and investigate big oil companies to get the price of gas down.

There are some lesser known facts about Hecht, that he also shared: He's a huge basketball fan, and attended the University of North Carolina with Michael Jordan.  He says, "Everybody knows I'm 5'2", but, I have a tremendous affinity for (laughs) basketball. I always have.  He kind of puts his finger up to me and waves me on by and says, 'slap my hand, little man,' and that's how I got to meet Michael Jordan."

Hecht is traveling throughout Southwest and Central Georgia this week in preparation for Tuesday's runoff election against Jim Martin. The winner of that primary will face Republican Casey Cagle in November.
