Douglas -- After a long battle with colon cancer, former Douglas Mayor, J. C. Adams, died yesterday afternoon.  

Adams, who was 74, served as Mayor of Douglas for more than 15-years in the 70's and 80's. He also owned the Dairy Queen in town.

He leaves behind his wife June Gaskin Adams, and their two children.  

Visitation is tonight at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas from 6:00 - 9:00. The funeral is Saturday at 2:00 PM at Douglas Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
