Thomasville- Friday was moving day for the Thomasville Fire Department. Thomasville Fire fighters were packing up their old station Friday and moving to the county owned joint Fire and EMS station.
Construction of the new building on Remington Avenue behind the old station began last year. The Fire Chief says the joint station makes sense.
"I think it's the way to go, that you have, we work together anyway, we respond together so, everybody gets along well, why not live together," said Chief Bryan Croft, Thomasville Fire.
The driveway for the new building must still be paved. Right now fire and emergency vehicles are using the YMCA parking lot access to get in and out of the building.
