No Millage Increase in Lowndes County

The Lowndes County Board of Education voted unanimously to keep the current property tax rate.

But property owners may still see a small increase in their taxes due to rising property values.

The board hoped to lower this year's property tax to match those values, but the lower rate wouldn't have allowed board members to maintain the current budget.

This is the second year the millage rate has not increased in Lowndes County.
