Albany --  Albany State University wants to be faster, friendlier and more efficient when it comes to the school's customers.

When ASU President Everette Freeman arrived at the university last year, a community survey pointed out flaws with customer service.

Beginning August 1st, there are new rules to put the needs of students, faculty and staff first, and improve customer service. It's part of Governor Perdue's initiative for Georgia to be the best managed state in the country by next year.

"We hope to set a new tone, not only throughout Georgia, but on this campus," said Connie Leggett of Albany State University. "So people have a better attitude about Albany State University and we become a friendlier university to our public."

On August 1st, a website will start up that will allow faculty, staff, students and taxpayers to monitor how customer service improvements are being implemented. For more information, click here .
