Same suspect robs Thomas County and Albany truck stops

Thomas County-  A robbery suspect who shot a guard at an Albany Truck Stop Sunday night may be the same man who robbed the Thomasville Travel Center early Monday morning. 

Surveillance video, shows the masked suspect, quickly rush in the Thomasville Travel Center with a rifle, demand money and then make a quick exit. The man wore a blue and white bandana over his face and had bulging eyes. Police are concerned about the weapon he used. 

"We've never had anyone actually use a rifle in a robbery before. We think the rifle was a .22, semi automatic.  The suspect came into the store, he fell actually as he came into the store," said Inv. Tim Watkins, Thomas County Sheriff Office. 

The suspect got away with an undetermined about of cash. Although different weapons were used, the man had a similar description to the robbery suspect at the BP in Albany.

    A man who was convicted of a sex crime in 2006 was placed in the Coffee County jail Tuesday, because he violated the terms of his parole, with his sex offender status.
