Albany -- Gov. Perdue also did a little campaigning at the Crisp County Recreation Department.

A group of children greeted the governor there before he met privately with supporters.

Perdue says the democratic primary race was an ugly one. He says he has a plan if his race with Mark Taylor turns negative.

"Usually people appreciate hearing the truth, and we'll respond with the facts and we'll respond with a vision for the future. I think that's what voters respond to," said Governor Sonny Perdue.

"If they look at Sonny Perdue's record of what he's done since he's been in there, then he will be re-elected overwhelmingly," said Perdue Supporter Buddy Leger.

Perdue says he often travels to this part of the state, and that shows his commitment to south Georgia.
