Steady turnout at busy Valdosta precinct

July 18, 2006

Valdosta - Trinity Presbyterian Church in Valdosta is one of the busiest polling places in Lowndes County.

The precinct has over 1500 voters and have seen a steady turnout for today's primary election.  "There were some here right at 7 o'clock to be the first ones in. It's much lighter than it was at the general election but its been steadier than we thought it would be," said Trinity Volunteer Roberta Boyd.

An average of 30 voters an hour have passed through Trinity since 7 this morning.

That's about on par with last year's primary election numbers.
