Taylor hosts election day lunch with volunteers

July 18, 2006

Albany-- At noon Mark Taylor took time on election day to eat lunch with many of his campaign workers at his Albany headquarters, thanking the people he says have carried him in this race for Governor.  Mark Taylor hosted a bar-b-que lunch, calling many of his campaign workers in to share a quick meal.

Mark Taylor said "I owe these folks everything. It is hard work to win an election."

Sacha Taylor said "Hey big guy, lets go get a hot dog." Taylor and his supporters enjoyed chili dogs, bar-b-que, and lemonade for lunch,  and the chance to cool off.

Cullena Morman said "It's hot. It's hot out there , but we've been out since about 7 this morning. We've been waving signs, and asking people to honk for Mark, and show their support, but we are having a good time."

Elizabeth Givens said "We're trying to get everyone's bellys full. We're enjoying the experience."

Kendell Crawford said "It's hot,but we are bearing through it. It's worth it, it's worth every moment of it."

Taylor spent much of the morning himself waving signs at intersections around Albany. Sacha Taylor said "He has got so much energy, it is amazing to me. Out there waving those signs a minute ago, I said I don't see how you do it."

Mark Taylor said he is confident he will win the Democratic nomination tonight, and need these volunteers back working tomorrow. Taylor said "We see Wednesday, Thursday and Friday being very key days in the campaign for Governor on November 7th, because we want to reach out to the supporters of the other candidates in the Democratic primary."

After their lunch, Mark Taylor urged his volunteers to continue working street corners until 7 PM, to try and get every vote possible.
