Albany - - Community leaders gathered this morning to pay tribute to members of the armed forces who serve in our area.

The Chamber of Commerce's Rise and Shine Breakfast took place at the Hilton Garden Inn.

M.C.L.B. marines were on hand as Chamber Chairman Leland Burkart honored them for their services.

People in attendence watched a video tribute honoring the 48th brigade and those members who died while on duty.

"It's a genuine spirit of love for what we consider our marines and it's just an outpouring of our thankfulness for what they do for us on a daily basis and also this year the 48th, what they've done for us also," Burkhart says.

Miss Albany 2006, Kindria Bailey sang the Star Sprangled Banner at the breakfast.
