Bainbridge-  A 12-year-old Bainbridge boy is recovering after he accidentally shot himself in the neck.  The boy lives with his grandmother at her home in the 800 block of Gordon Avenue.

The boy was rifling through her drawers when he found a loaded .22 caliber pistol Monday afternoon around 4:30 p.m.

The pistol discharged and the bullet struck the boy in the neck. He was taken to the Southwest Alabama Medical Center in Dothan where police say he is listed as stable.
