Dougherty County - Dougherty County announces plans to open another industrial park to draw more big business to town.  The new industrial park will be built on about 225-acres just west of Cooper Tire on Highway 82 East.

The land was brought with about $1-million in sales tax money. The site was chosen because of its assess to major roads and rail lines.

Dougherty County Commission Chairman Jeff Sinyard says the industrial park should make Albany more marketable with manufacturers.

"It's been proven over and over again that if you have an industrial site, you're going to have two to three times more prospects visit you community," said Dougherty County Commission Chairman Jeff Sinyard. "That's because all the things they are looking for in terms of infrastructure and land are in one place."

It will take about a year to develop the park so new businesses can move in.
