Decatur County-  It's a victory for Sunshine Law advocates. The state's highest court will require Decatur County to turn over grand jury documents requested by a local newspaper.

Georgia's Supreme Court decided Decatur County improperly denied public access to the documents after they were discussed in an executive session in June 2005. The case stems from grand jury presentments when the county commission was targeted for how it handled overtime and vacation policies.

Sunshine advocates say the court's decision reinforces the principal that openness is a general rule in Georgia government proceedings.
