Lee County -- Georgia State Patrol Investigators were back at the scene of a triple fatality crash in Lee County Thursday, using the GSP's latest technology in crash scene reconstruction to recreate the collision.

The Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team used the Nikon Total Station to record the area. The camera system's recordings will be downloaded into a computer to recreate the crash in 3-D images to show a jury exactly what happened.

"This process maps the scene to scale, and we take these documents into court, just to show the area of impact where it happened and where the cars came to final rest," said T.F.C. David McLemore of the Ga. State Patrol.

Thirty-eight-year-old Michael Littleton is charged with DUI and three counts of vehicular homicide in the crash at that intersection. Troopers say he lost control of his pick-up truck on June 29th and crashed head-on into a car.

Forty-one-year old Kelly Jean Caldwell, 36-year old Charles Caldwell, and 17-year old Nathaniel Wood were killed.
