Albany-  South Georgian are also encouraged not to drink and drive with the sale of alcohol up this Independence Day.

Lighthouse Liquors received more stock this morning and say sales for the Fourth have been good despite the holiday falling on a Tuesday. The biggest seller, beer.

"It's probably mainly a beer holiday, but there's still some wine coolers, but it's mainly pretty much canned beer also because of the lakes and the swimming pools and everything," said Jason Watts, Lighthouse Liquors Manager.

Despite good sales this year, the Fourth of July only ranks fifth on the list in sales behind Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years Eve, and Super Bowl Sunday.
