Lake Blackshear --Many people enjoyed today's weather out at Lake Blackshear. Aside from some splashing in the water or getting some sun, many people came to take part in the Georgia Veterans State Park July Fourth festivities.
The activities kicked off yesterday at 10 am and continue until July Fourth evening with a fireworks show.
Some say it was a great day to have a little pre-fourth party."Considering that Fourth of July is going to be on Tuesday, we wanted to go ahead and get things started early, beat the traffic a little bit," said Jimmy Hall.
If you missed out on events so far at the lake, you can still make it to some others. Tonight at 8 o'clock there is a presentation on reptiles at the park activity center.
Tuesday at 5 o'clock you can check out a free concert featuring the Honeybees. After that the Drifters will take the stage at the Resort. It all wraps up Tuesday night with a huge Fireworks show at 9:30.
