Albany - The Albany State track team has to find a versatile athlete who can replace the graduated Brandon Rouhlac in the decathlon.
That successor could be Westover High's Derrick Cubbage.
Cubbage and Patriot teammate Nick Pierce signing scholarships with the Golden Rams Friday afternoon.
Derrick Cubbage was a region champion in the triple jump and also ran in five sprint events.
Nick Pierce is a distance runner who won the region title this year in 1600 meter, 3200 meter and in cross-country in the fall.
Lady Patriots track standout Kiana Key is headed to the Rams chief rival. Key, who won the AAA state title in the triple jump as a junior and finished second in the state as a sophomore and senior, signed with the SIAC champion Fort Valley State women's track team.
