Thomasville -- Many south Georgia cities are making final preparations for big Independence Day celebrations.

This year, Thomasville will have its annual fourth of July fireworks extravaganza at Remington Park.

The festivities will be at the playground area beside the soccer fields.  Entertainment will feature The Jamie Eubanks Band. It all starts at 6:30.

The 30-minute fireworks show will begin at 9:30. "It's a free concert, lot's of games and activity for the kids,"  said Marketing Coordinator Sherri Nix. "So we just want you to bring your lawn chairs, or blankets or towels or what ever you like to sit on and just come out and spend the evening with us."
