Inmate died from heart disease

June 26, 2006

Lowndes County - Preliminary autopsy results show a South Georgia Inmate died of complications from heart disease.

21-year-old George Hill died in the Lowndes County jail Friday morning following a seizure.  Hill's family says he was healthy and had no known signs of any heart disease.  They'll conduct a private autopsy in Atlanta once Hill's body is released from the Moultrie Crime Lab.

Hill was serving a couple of days in jail for fraud charges.   He died the morning he was scheduled to return home.
