Climax--  The drowning happened in Climax.  That's in Decatur County.  Decatur County EMS and the Climax Volunteer Fire Department responded to the child's home on Bert Phillips Road at about 4 in the afternoon.

It was the child's father who discovered the boy in the family's in-ground pool.  He tried to resuscitate the 2-year-old by performing CPR.

EMS rushed him to Bainbridge Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
