Valdosta - The high school baseball season ended a few weeks ago but coaches are already working on next year.
Lowndes High hosting their ninth annual South Georgia Diamond Brawl this weekend.
41 teams from Georgia and Florida will be playing games over the next three days at seven different fields in the Valdosta area.
Many of these 41 teams are some of the top teams in the two states including the host Lowndes High Vikings who made it to the state semifinals this season.
And after three days of facing some of the top baseball programs in Georgia and Florida, coaches will go back home with a good idea of what kind of team they will have next spring.
Lowndes baseball coach Danny Redshaw said "For us it is a cotntinuation of the season. And kind of a continuation of tryouts for next year where we are building on what we have done this past year and we are looking to see who will step up and be our players for next year."
Besides Lowndes High, games will also be played at Valdosta High, Valdosta State, Valwood, Cook High, Brooks County and Colquitt County through Saturday.
