Moultrie --  A long-time feud between two elderly Moultrie men results in one of them trying to kill the other with a gun.

Sixty-Six year-old Charles Bowles lives in the apartment next to 85-year-old Earl Strawder on 5th Avenue in Moultrie. Police tell us that the two men have been arguing for quite some time over various points, including being too noisy and beating on the apartment walls.

When Bowles returned home from a trip to town about 10:30 this morning, Strawder was waiting outside with a .22 pistol behind his back. Police say that he told Bowles that he was going to kill him, and then fired four shots from the .22.

Three of the shots hit Bowles, who was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center. They expect to transfer him to a hospital in Macon for further treatment of his wounds.

Strawder was arrested by Moultrie police, and is in the Colquitt County jail, charged with aggravated assault.
