June 20, 2006

Thomasville-  Thomasville leaders want the community's input on a plan for the Rose City's future.  Tuesday night, Thomasville leaders will unveil a comprehensive plan that will lay out plans for the city over the next 20 years.

That plan will focus on eight areas including population, economic development, housing, natural and cultural resources, community facilities, transportation, land use, and Intergovernmental coordination. Now they want the citizen's help.

"Really, it's key to get the community's input, the advice from them on what they see being the future of Thomasville so we can kind of guide the growth of Thomasville the way the citizen's want to," said Duane Treadon, Planning and Community Development Director.

Tuesday's meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building. Thomas County will unveil their plan Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. at the Thomas County Courthouse.
