Camilla -- Police caught an armed robbery suspect this afternoon after he led them on a chase. Camilla Police put out an alert for a red Chevrolet Cobalt after an armed robbery in the Camilla Wal-Mart parking lot early this afternoon.

A short time later, a Dougherty County Police officer spotted a car that matched the description. The driver-  27-year-old John Williams of Albany- refused to stop. He hit a stop sign on Dorough road in south Dougherty County and ran, but the officer tracked him down.

Investigators are still searching for a weapon they think was used in the robbery.  Investigators are bringing in a dog from the Department of Natural Resources trained to find firearms.

Williams is now in Camilla Police custody, and faces one count of armed robbery, but he will also face numerous charges from Dougherty County Police in the chase.
