Albany-- A name change for an Albany Technical College degree program could help students get jobs. The college will now offer an Associate of Applied Science degree to replace the Associate of Applied Technology degree.

The Department of Technical and Adult Education is making the change system wide. It will be more in keeping with the national educational standards and terminology and should make job hunting easier for graduates.

"People will understand an Associates of Applied Science that much quicker and easier, their won't be any explanations or discussion, just simple and straight forward. Everybody else that's what they offer in the university systems"said Joe Banker Vice President of Instruction. Albany Tech will implement the changes July first.
