Atlanta -- The Georgia Federation of Teachers wants Mark Taylor to be governor.

The group has about nine thousand members and endorsed the Albany native Wednesday. Georgia Federation of Teachers is a state affiliate of American Federation of Teachers, who represent 1.5 million teachers nationwide.

GFT's president highlighted Taylor's 20-year commitment to teachers, including his fight to take Georgia teacher salaries to the national average.

Taylor's role in the hope scholarship and pre-K programs also helped with their support.
