Albany--A celebration is in the works to honor troops with the 48th brigade in Albany.

Tonight, members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars met with business owners and chamber of commerce leaders to plan a 'welcome home' celebration.

It will take place July 15th at the VFW post in Albany. There will be plenty of food, entertainment, and games for the troops and their families.

Organizers says it's important to show them our gratitude.

"I was in the Vietnam era, and this kind of appreciation was not given, and that's one of the reason's that VFW is involved in order to show that we do support the troops," says Paul Murray with the Albany VFW Post.

Organizers hope about 600 soldiers and their families will show up for the event.
