Mid-South Narcotics Task Force Press Release

Cordele -- According to Commander Jeff Youngblood, the Mid-South Narcotics Task Force completes a three month long investigation resulting in the arrest of three suspects on May 19, 2006.

The investigation was started when agents with the Task Force received information that Daniel Garcia, DOB 2-22-86, of Blakely GA., was distributing large amounts of cocaine and marijuana in the Crisp, Turner and Tift County areas.

Task Force agents along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Crisp County Sheriff's Office, the Ashburn Police Department, the Turner County Sheriff's Office and the Tift County Sheriff's Office started gathering intelligence on Garcia and performing surveillance on him as well.

During this time it was discovered that Garcia's father Gregory Garcia, DOB 11-22-65, of Blakely GA and a friend Daniel Garces Garcia, DOB 4-02-59, of Texas were also involved in the drug distribution network.

Agents were able to purchase approximately two pounds of suspected marijuana from Daniel Garcia in Crisp County. After this transaction was completed agents discovered that Daniel Garcia along with Gregory Garcia and Daniel Garces Garcia had a large amount of cocaine stored in an apartment in Crisp County.

A search warrant was obtained and served on the apartment. Daniel Garcia, Gregory Garcia and Daniel Garces Garcia were present at the apartment when the search warrant was served.

During the search agents seized approximately one kilogram and thirty-four ounces of suspected cocaine along with $1,102.00 in cash. All three suspects are being held in the Crisp County Detention Center.

Daniel Garcia is charged with sale of marijuana and trafficking in cocaine, Gregory Garcia is charged with trafficking in cocaine and Daniel Garces Garcia is charged with trafficking in cocaine.
