Albany --

The sounds of the Albany Symphony orchestra mixed with some southern Jazz filled Veteran's Park Ampitheater tonight.

Tonight's Jazz on the River concert featured the Orchestra, the Carey Smith Jazz Quartet, and the Southern Art Music Ensemble. Those who came out got to enjoy a picnic at the park as the music played. Performers say it's a great venue for a concert."We can be down by the river, down by the Flint River in this ampitheater. We can hear this Jazz ensemble then we can hear the symphony with the jazz ensemble, then another jazz ensemble so it's jazz on the river tonight," said orchestra conductor Claire Hillard.

The Symphony Orchestra performs an outdoor Pops in the Park concert each year. This was also part of this summer's Rythms by the River concert series.
