Albany - - At its regular meeting this afternoon, the Board of Directors for Phoebe Putney Hospital celebrated the success of this year's Children's Miracle Network telethon.

The fundraiser brought in over $260,000  this year. That's up from last year when the telethon brought in just $140,000.

WALB partnered with Phoebe in this event to help raise money for children in need of medical assistance.

Also at the meeting today, the board recognized the hospital's Nurse of the Year.

Lissa Rowe is a registered nurse at Phoebe and received this recognition based on her outstanding service at the hospital.
