Lee County - An Andrew College student survived a violent crash on a busy highway Tuesday morning.
Eighteen year old Sherri Nelson was headed west on U.S. 82 near the Lee/Terrell County line when she careened across the median and hit a semi-truck.
The collision was so violent that the state trooper who worked the wreck said he was amazed that she survived.
Nelson had to be cut out of her crushed Toyota Corolla.
She's in good condition at an Albany hospital.
She told troopers she swerved to avoid an animal and lost control.
