Albany -- Levern Spencer winning the Division II national championship in the high jump as a member of the Albany State track team last season, clearing 6' 1/4".
Spencer says winning last year wasn't all that hard.
Now a member of the Georgia track team, she says the level of competition as a lot more difficult.
"I like a lot of competition because it helps me better my heights," says Spencer.
"When I was in Division II I was pretty much competing against myself. I didn't have a lot of competition. In Division I it's a lot better."
Spencer will look to make it two straight national titles, as qualifying begins Wednesday for the Division I high jump championship.
Spencer seeded third after clearing 1.9 meters.
