Thomasville-  Melissa White is also facing charges in Thomasville. Thomasville Police were alerted this afternoon that White had been caught in Lee County. White is believed to be the woman in this surveillance video from Publix's on East Pine Tree Boulevard in Thomasville.

"Based on how the crime occurred, it only constitutes a misdemeanor of theft by taking it doesn't fit the elements of a robbery case," said Captain Troy Rich, Thomasville Police Department.

The victim's purse was taken from her cart while her back was turned. The Thomas County Sheriff's office found that discarded purse along Summerhill Road last week, with evidence that linked the crime to Albany.
