Leesburg -- Lee County High School doesn't have a volleyball team.
Not yet, anyway.
They'll begin their first season of play in the fall.
But the Lady Trojans future players, as well as those from Americus Sumter and Sherwood Christian were gaining some valuable knowledge at the school today, with players from the Florida State volleyball team on hand to share their skills with the high school players.
The Lady Seminoles teaching the high schoolers offensive and defensive position for competition volleyball.
Lee County will have a long season ahead, with most road games a minimum of two hours away, and Lady Trojans head coach Sheri Schultz is hoping many of the other local schools will begin forming teams.
"This will be the first time Lee County has competition volleyball," says Shultz. "We're trying to get the Dougherty COunty schools involved so we don't have to travel so far, but we'd really just like to get everybody fired up about volleyball."
The Lady Trojans will begin their first season August first.
