Sumter County--A very well-known Albany native hopes your votes will be enough to make him Georgia's next governor.

Lt. Governor Mark Taylor campaigned at the Sumter County Boys and Girls Club earlier this evening.

If elected, Taylor plans to make improvements in education, law enforcement, and provide affordable health insurance for children.

Taylor says the public is responding well to his campaign for governor.

"Our campaign is getting a great response because it's a campaign about a record and that has helped the people of Georgia. And it's a campaign about bringing about a better Georgia," he says.

Taylor is up against secretary of state Cathy Cox, both are seeking the democratic nomination for governor.
