Scottsboro, Alabama -- The Darton College Cavaliers were red hot in the final round, pulling away to win their second straight National Junior College Golf Championship by nine strokes.
Darton trailed by two strokes going into Friday's final round at Goose Pond Colony in Alabama. But the Cavaliers shot a team 284 in the final round, to win by nine strokes over runner up Kirkwood Community College from Iowa. Darton was the only team to break par in the four day championship tournament.
In the individual competition, Darton had three players finish in the top 7 in country. Brent Witcher with a one under par 71 finished tied for second at four under.
Ryan Parker tied for fourth at three under, with a final round two under 70.
Troy Bartkowicz with a 71 finished 7th at one under. The Darton College Cavaliers national junior college golf champions for the second straight year.
