Atlanta - The Georgia State Patrol predicts 18 people will die on state roads during the Memorial Day holiday.
The State Patrol also predicts 1,012 injuries across the state. Last year, a record 32 people died on Georgia roads during the Memorial Day weekend.
Georgia law enforcement agencies are launching their annual 110 days of Summer HEAT sweep and will target unbuckled and impaired drivers.
All available troopers and Motor Carrier Compliance officers will be on patrol.
