Albany -- A former Albany policeman must register as a sex offender for having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Twenty-eight-year-old Darrius Richardson was sentenced this week to four years probation, fined $1,000  and must surrender his POST certification.

Richardson pled guilty in November to statutory rape, enticing a child for indecent purposes and violation of oath of office.

He was originally sentenced to 15 years, with four to be served in prison. In our 6:00 newscast, we'll explore why his sentenced was reduced.
