Albany-- After months of debate and review, some disgruntled city employees finally got bonuses they say they earned.

Many Albany city employees complained when they didn't receive performance bonuses. Some employees who got Not Applicables in some categories on their evaluations argued that affected their overall scores.

City manager Alfred Lott investigated those claims. After review, he says 16 employees received their $1,100 bonuses costing the city an additional $18,000.

"That money came from personnel services from which have not hired some people or we are trying to hire some people and as a result we had some saving and that's where the money came from that same pot of money," says Lott.

More than 330 city workers got the bonuses when they were initially handed out.
