Crisp County -- A new facility at Lake Blackshear may attract even more visitors.

Just in time for the big Memorial Day boating weekend, the Resort at Lake Blackshear unveiled its new marina.

Resort officials say it'll spur economic growth by providing daytime visitors with more resources right at dockside and attracting more overnight boaters with larger vessels.

The marina has rental slips for up to 60 boats with hookups for fresh water and electricity.

"People that have been using the lake now want a place -- instead of trailering their boat in all the time -- they can come in and just enjoy a slip and leave their boat with us ... just come on down and get in the boat and go have a good time," said Ivan Williams, the manager of the new marina.

The Marina will be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

For more information or to reserve rental space, call (229) 273-7747.
