Albany -- An arthritis walk is in the works to bring attention to a painful problem for many south Georgia seniors.

When it comes to arthritis -- the painful swelling of joints that often comes with age -- exercise is just what the doctor orders.

So organizers with the state chapter of the Arthritis foundation said what better way to call seniors to action -- for their own good.

"Exercise. Exercise. It's a great way to prevent arthritis and it's also a great way to manage arthritis -- just to keep moving," said Catherine Jones of the Georgia chapter of the Arthritis Foundation.

To learn more about the condition or to join their activities, you can contact the Georgia chapter of the Arthritis Foundation or go to foundation's Web site at http://www.arthritis.org/events/ArthritisWalk/default.asp
