Albany--A beloved Labrador retriever, who visits the nursing homes hospitals and schools, is undergoing cancer treatment.

Hero, a member of the Paws Patrol has anal gland cancer. His owner says it was successfully removed by surgery, but the 10-year-old yellow lab must still undergo chemotherapy.

Hero has worked as a therapy dog for Paws Patrol since 1997.

"He's been all these years, working several days a week going to both hospitals, nursing homes, educational facilities. We teach humane education as well as therepeutic visitation," says owner, Marty Harris.
