Lee county assault

May 19, 2006

Lee County - - Police are looking for a man they say stalked a Lee County woman that he knows and then raped her at her home.

It happened Thursday morning off of Endoline Drive. Lee County Sheriff's Deputies say the man went into the woman's home, hit her on the head with a wine bottle and sexually assaulted her.

Just last week, the same man went to her home and hit her in the eye. All of this just weeks after he sent the married woman four love letters.

"They're written on particular stationary and there's a particular envelope that he uses all the time. There's a particular mark on the envelope as well. He just said that he wants to be with her. It sounds like he's infactuated with her," says Lt. Lewis Harris, Jr.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, slender with dark hair and hairy arms. Deputies believe the man is in his late 30's and has a mole on his face.

Investigators don't believe this was a random attack. They say he specifically targeted this woman. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lee County Sherriff's Office at 759-6034.
