Albany -- An area library needs your help to move 99,000 books to a new location.

Tifton's main library is about to undergo a one and a half year renovation. Workers are busy boxing up books and audio and videotapes.

Librarians say the renovation will make it easier to navigate the library, and more people will use the facility.

"After we renovate we hope the materials will be easier to find, we hope that the computers will have better access, and just a more comfortable environment and nicer environment for our patrons," said children's department head Patricia Tolar.

Volunteers are needed from June 1st through 3rd to help move books to the library's temporary location in the old Wal-Mart building in Tifton.
