Albany - - This month is Better Speech and Hearing month and an Albany hearing specialist is introducing a new gadget for people who may be hard of hearing.

It's called The Destiny Hearing Aid makde by Starkey. The hearing aid is different from others because it allows hearing specialists to program the aid specfically to the customer's needs by using state of the art technology.

"This hearing aid learns environments. It knows when you're in a windy noise, it knows if you're in a mechancial setting or if you have a lot of background noise or if you're in a quite mode. If you're at home reading a book, this hearing aid actually quiets down and you hear no circuit noise," says Ralph Jackson of Ralph Jackson Hearing Aid.
