Valdosta -- America's Second Harvest food bank and Unites States postal service are teaming up and asking citizens to leave non perishable foods in the mail boxes Saturday.

Last year 96,000 pounds of food was donated in the Valdosta area, the second largest amount in the state.

"It's heartwarming that the community stands behind us and does such a great job showing us that they care," said Chuck Kent of the National Association of Letter Carriers.

This year America's Second Harvest of Valdosta has a goal of 120,000 pounds.
